As some of you know, I am headed to Africa tomorrow for 6 weeks on a trip I have dreamed of since I was a girl. Something about the continent has always drawn me to it. I will be blogging as I travel, as well as posting photos. We start in Rwanda with a Gorilla Safari and a visit to Dian Fossey’s grave and old research camp. Following that we fly to Nairobi to begin a 5 week Nairobi to Cape Town overland safari.
The main challenge so far has been fitting everything for a 6 week odyssey into 1 duffel bag. There are books written about how to pack efficiently – now I understand why 🙂 Tomorrows flight is an overnight flight to Amsterdam. We have a day to sightsee in the city and then fly on to Kigali Rwanda the following day.
I will look forward to sharing my travels with you all.
Looking forward to your photos Anne! Wishing you a wonderful time.
Happy New Year from Cheryl and Brian.

Enjoy Amsterdam. I was born there and lived there until I was 5 , and then again from 10-18 then to the States. It is a beautiful city. The weather is unseasonably warm, but some rain, but maybe you will be lucky. I hope you can take a boat tour through the canals. A lot will be closed because New Year’s Day !!,Enjoy and stay safe!!!
